Within our educational project, we bet on the technological advances that help students progress in their learning and help them to become competent in the workplace.
Our classrooms are fully equipped with digital whiteboards, projectors and Apple TV. We have a computer classroom in Primary and another classroom in Secondary.
In Infant Education, Primary Education and ESO, our e-SAFA project is based on the introduction of iPads to personalise cognitive learning with Catalan, Spanish and English contents. Our students have their own iPad from 5th grade to 4th of ESO.
In Primary Education we work with robotics and programming through Apple’s Swift playgrounds as well as other Apps that allow our student to get into the language of code.
In Secondary Education, in 1st and 2nd of ESO Computer Science is taught in English and the Scratch is worked on. In 1st of ESO, programming is also done with mBlock. In 4th of ESO our students develop and put into practice more specific electronic and programming concepts.
After carrying out the PILEC (Regarding Boos Plan promoted by the Departement of Education of the Generalitat) which has as a strategic aim the improvement of the school success of all the students, promoting systematic Reading to increase communicative and linguistic competence and the development of the reading habit of children and young people. We have designed a reader itinerary that includes all the educational stages making a journey through literary history from the Oral Tradition of 10th century to the Contemporary Age, reading great classics such as Cervantes, Shakespeare, Dafoe, Asten, Mark Twain, Pere Quart, Albert Espinosa, Eduardo Mendoza... in the language in which they were written.
In Primary Education, students work mathematics using the Singapore Method, where the student learns to think from the resolution of problems, while putting linguistic competence and creativity into practice. It is based on reflection with everyday objects and manipulative elements to ensure the understanding of concepts. It has the support of other tools such as cooperative and spiral learning, that is, each mathematical problem is a small step compared to the previous one to ensure that nobody loses and can understand the content that is being worked on.
3rd and 4th graders work creativity and entrepreuneurship through the Fundació per a la Creativació with the aim of developing the creativity and innovative capacity of the students.
5th to 8th graders develop Real Challenges related to different areas to bring education closer to reality. This year they carry out the creation of 3D printers.
Creativation Challenges was born as a platform which coordinates projects of real challenges sponsored by organisations and based on the Method of Creativation. .
Using this method, the aim is to dimension the educational system through new forms of learning by projects. The methodology starts from the current educational base (learning curricular contents and basic competences) but it brings something more enriching: creativity and innovation.
The Integrated Content and Foreign Language Learning (CLIL) is a stream of applied linguistic that advocates that in school contexts there is greater success in learning foreign languages when using these languages to teach common subjects such as history or science, that through the functional curricular that treat these languages as independent subjects.
In our school we make CLIL with the subjects of Art, Science, Laboratory Practices, School of Entrepreneurs or Social.
EMOTIONS, COMMUNICATION, SUSTAINABILITY
The R-APS is a project that promotes the development of competences through cooperative work and service-learning.
The R-APS project was born with the objective of placing each of our students at the centre of their own learning, enhancing their skills and interests, overcoming difficulties, enriching their knowledge so that in the future, as European citizens, they will promote actions that improve their environment, both local and global, and live in a society based on the fundamental values of the European Union.
It involves the participation and cooperation of all the students, from Infant to 4th ESO. One of the most important elements is that the students groups according to their own interests regardless of age. This mix of knowledges, interests and levels promotes social values such as teamwork, respect and tolerance.
The project is organized into three blocks (R-APS) with a different theme each one: emotions, communication and sustainability. Each subject offers students various workshops or corners where they participate by developing different activities and projects such as making an urban garden, participating in the improvement of the library or the playground, doing yoga, writing the school’s digital magazine, among many other options.
Through Safa R-APS the learning contents, competences and values is combined in a single activity with the performance of tasks to service the school community. At the same time, it is learning centred on the interests of the student that aims to develop their potential based on the multiple intelligences of Howard Gardner is encouraged.
