European day of languages
On 26th September was the European day of languages. With cicle superior we celebrated the linguistic diversity sharing the languages that are spoken in the class and searching them on the map. Those students that had another mother tongue taught us some sentences or words in that language. We also learnt which languages were spoken in Europe, some language families and how some languages are very similar and others don’t even have the same alphabet! There are more than 200 languages in Europe!
Students were amazed at the quantity of tongues that were spoken in their classes. This activity gave them another reason to add value on the learning of a foreign language. Languages help us communicate with others and give us opportunities to travel and establish connections with other people.
You can see the participation from the school in the event on the webpage of the European day of languages.
